A conversation about non-invasive commemorative art practices.
The growing awareness of human impact on the environment, and the emergence of new paradigms in the humanities, have drawn attention to nature as an actor, witness and archive; a lens to study the past – including genocidal violence. During this conversation, we will explore new strategies for commemorating the difficult past in a dignified and environmentally friendly way. Artists Marta Sala (Esther’s Willow), Jason Francisco (Medicinal Plants of Plaszow) and Daniela Molnar (Pigmentation) will share their original projects that work with nature using non-invasive commemorative practices.
