“To accept one’s past—one’s history—is not the same thing as drowning in it; it is learning how to use it” (James Baldwin, The Fire Next Time).
A dialogue of reed, and acoustic instruments. Musical concept based on passing an invisible, sonic baton. Different types of narration, searching for harmonies and solo moments. Pushing the boundaries of sound: from melodiousness to abstraction. Away from rigid beliefs and fixed energies, towards unnamed memories, thoughts, and feelings. A concert and a ritual, a community of artists and listeners; a space of mutual care, attention, and equality.
