Eliza Levinson

Eliza Levinson is a video artist from Los Angeles. She’s coming to FestivALT for the first time this year with an experimental film (Namesake: film by Eliza Levinson / Namesake: film Elizy Levinson) that explores the legacy of diaspora, migration, and “postmemory,”—how memory is embodied and transmitted over generations. Using her great-grandmother’s story of emigration and reinvention as a jumping off-point, Eliza explores contemporary questions of citizenship, refugee crises, borders, intergenerational trauma, and increasing tides of far-right extremism.
