Kasia Pilitowska
Short bio
“I think I still have a few Kasias in me, each wanting to do something different at the same time. So my day is 24 x X… I have worked in corporations, state institutions, a small company, I have presented a music radio programme, I have been a nanny, a Parisian waitress and a Krakow cook. I was educated in Krakow, I am a Romanist and a journalist. But my element is organisation. Connecting something with something, someone with someone, ideas with actions. I organise the culinary festival Najedzeni Fest!, the summer Krakow Picnic, cooking workshops, with my boyfriend Bart I run a small hummus bar Hummus Amamamusi and with my daughter Zosia an equally small breakfast bar Ranny Ptaszek. I am socially active, I cook soup for the homeless, I help in a dog shelter, I fight for trees, I put up benches in my beautiful district of Kazimierz. I consider my greatest success to be the creation of a radio station – Radiofonia. I relax in the kitchen – I am simply a cook. I like to make soups, because soup is like a down jacket in the winter and a cold shower in the heat.”
