
Szymon Walawender
Short bio
Szymon Walawender is a dancer who began his dance journey at the age of seven. He graduated from the Dance Theatre Department at the XXX High School named after St. Brother Albert in Kraków, where he collaborated with Art Color Ballet, performing in productions such as AmbreTree and Homoangelicus. He further developed his acting skills at the Faculty of Dance Theatre at the AST National Academy of Theatre Arts in Bytom.
In 2019, Szymon began his studies at Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam, where he had the opportunity to work with renowned choreographers such as Jiří Kylián, Marco Goecke, Lukáš Timulak, Keith-Derrick Randolph, Lorand Zachar, and Fernando Troya. He performed at the Holland Dance Festival as a member of the Codarts ensemble, and took part in the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games in a piece choreographed by Maud Le Pladec.
He completed an internship at Skånes Dansteater in Sweden, collaborating with Marri Carrasco, Erika Silgoner, Tero Saarinen, Jo Strømgren, and Wubkje Kuindersma.
Szymon has also participated in several productions with h.art company, including The Symphony of The Whispering Walls (choreography: Erion Kruja), Kantaten (Kasia Witek), Salon Bizarre (Jakub Mędrzycki), and Stany Solidarności directed by Agnieszka Jachym.
