“Namesake” Levinson – film screening

namesake is an experimental film by Eliza Levinson that explores the legacy of diaspora, migration, and “postmemory”—how memory is embodied and transmitted over generations. Using her great-grandmother’s story of emigration and reinvention as a jumping off-point, Levinson explores contemporary questions of citizenship, refugee crises, borders, intergenerational trauma, and increasing tides of far-right extremism. Following the film, there will be a talkback with the artist.
