“Searching for Myself” Anna Rabbit – exhibition opening

The exhibition features illustrations in which the artist continues her long-standing reflections on her identity.

Inspired by the phrase “my body is my temple,” she has created a series of illustrations where tattoo aesthetics collide with traditional decorations of the bimah – a raised platform in a synagogue, often adorned with a canopy or dome. Carved, polychromed beams, columns, and balustrades are to the artist like clavicles, hips, and feet – elements of a structure whose meaning is revealed only when viewed as a whole. The narrative also includes the artist’s memories of her family home and childhood in Siberia. The comic-like series was prepared specifically for this occasion.

The exhibition will be open from June 23 to July 7, 2024.
