The preparation process and the event itself on May 11 will be documented photographically and on film.

If you want to find out more, take part in the open call for the next edition of the Still Standing project! We invite young people and adults to join. Anyone over the age of 15 can apply, regardless of fitness level or previous experience with choreography and movement in public space. With foreigners living in Krakow in mind, the project will be conducted in two languages: Polish and English. Our aim is to restore the memory of Krakow’s Jewish past, and in particular the Jewish sports club Makkabi.

The “Still Standing” activity has been developed since 2020 by Weronika Pelczyńska and Aleksandra Janus in cooperation with Monika Szpunar. Its aim is to commemorate places related to Polish-Jewish history through movement and dance as tools of remembrance. The project refers to the choreography of Noa Eshkol and raises questions about care as an attitude towards the past. This year we are planning commemorative activities on the site of the former Makkabi Stadium, involving the local community.

The event was organised in cooperation with the KS Nadwiślan Club, Makabi Warszawa, Cricoteca, Zapomniane Foundation and the Urban Memory Foundation as part of the project "MultiMemo: Multidirectional Remembering. Remembering for Social Justice", which FestivALT is implementing with the support of the European Union within the framework of the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme. 🇪🇺 Co-financed by the City of Krakow.
