Dominika Knapik is a choreographer, director, dancer and actress. Graduate of the AST National Academy of Theater Arts in Krakow (Acting Department/2002). She regularly collaborates with various important theatrical institutions in Poland and abroad, e.g. Narodowy Stary Teatr in Cracow, Nowy Teatr in Warsaw, Narodowy Teatr in Warsaw, Teatr Łaźnia Nowa in Kraków, MCHAT/Moscow, Thalia Theater in Hamburg, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Arthur Miller Theater/University of Michigan, NT Mannheim, Deutsches Theater in Berlin. She collaborates as a choreographer with many directors, e.g. Iga Gańczarczyk, Ewelina Marciniak, Maja Kleczewska, Radek Rychcik, Anna Smolar, Anna Augustynowicz, Paweł Łysak, Jan Klata, Monika Strzępka, Paweł Miśkiewicz, Remigiusz Brzyk, Bartosz Szydlowski, Malcolm Tulip, Julia Wissert, Olaf Kröck and Jette Steckel. Dominika Knapik’s style is defined by her sense of humour and the ease with which she merges elements taken from various artistic disciplines. Her chief material are everyday gestures submitted to heavy formalisation. In her works she merges dramatic theater, dance and performance with feminist perspective.
