What is the event about?
How much agency do individuals have in the face of geopolitical events unfolding on a global scale?
As a Jewish person, how can one cope with hate, exclusion and prejudice in everyday life?
Can the language we speak or use in our creative work also become a target of prejudice and hatred?
Can culture, art and community become strategies of resistance and resilience?
How can we present minority art, create and educate at a time of rising antisemitism?
How can we build inclusive alliances, and where can we find communities and safe social and cultural spaces?
And finally: do minority identities, initiatives and projects have a chance of surviving in an increasingly polarised world?
We invite you to join a discussion exploring these questions, moderated by Lena Rubenfeld, Co-Director of FestivALT, and featuring:
🌸 Maria Ka — lyricist, composer, singer and pianist creating original music in Yiddish; author of the exhibition “I’m Going Alone. Reality Has Boycotted Me”, presented as part of the POLIN Museum’s Rotating Gallery (2026),
🌸 Miriam Synger — educator and activist behind the Instagram account @jestem_zydowka, and author of the book “Jestem Żydówką” (“I Am Jewish”, 2023),
🌸 Anna Rabbit — illustrator, painter, comic book and textile artist living and working in Kraków.
The event is FREE, but registration is required.

The Podgórze HOIZ space (Józefińska Street) is located on the ground floor and has a street-level entrance.
Guide dogs are welcome. The event will be held in Polish.
If any additional needs arise during the event, please let the organisers know. They will be wearing special ID badges.
