KulturDcs in Stockholm

  • Project KulturDocs

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of presenting KulturDocs at Limmud Stockholm, one of the most important events in the Swedish Jewish community’s calendar. During our session, we screened excerpts from the first film in the series, dedicated to musician and thinker Mikołaj Trzaska. 🎬

🌟 Our session became an opportunity to reflect on how art can be a response to post-Holocaust trauma and difficult questions of identity, while also serving as a source of joy, beauty, and inspiration.

Through the music and stories of Mikołaj and other artists, we invited the audience into the world of contemporary Polish-Jewish artistic scene – dynamic, vibrant, and redefining today’s view of culture.

💬 Limmud Stockholm 2024 – dialogues that matter…

This year’s Limmud was a space for conversations on the most important topics: from antisemitism and inherited trauma, to reflections on the events of October 7th, and questions about the future of Jewish youth and communities in Sweden. Our KulturDocs session perfectly fit into these key discussions, attracting both people with Polish roots and cinema enthusiasts.

🎥 What’s next?
The enthusiastic reception of our session means we’re already planning more KulturDocs screenings – and this is just the beginning!

We thank all participants for their sensitivity, openness, and for co-creating a space to talk about the past, present, and future.

Financing

The KulturDocs series is funded by the state budget as part of the "Public Diplomacy 2024" competition organized by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
