Michael Rubenfeld

Co-founder and co-director of FestivALT. Originally born in Canada, Michael was the artistic director of the Summerworks Performance Festival in Toronto for a decade, as well as the CanadaHub at the Edinburgh Fringe. Michael is also a renowned actor and writer. In 2018, he co-created, acted in and toured We Keep Coming Back (with Sarah Garton Stanley) to four countries, including three tours in Poland. It is a play about his Polish-Jewish roots. In 2022, he co-wrote and performed in Alte Hajm / Stary Dom for the Teatr Nowy in Poznan, an award winner in the 28th edition of the Ogólnopolski Konkurs na Wystawienie Polskiej Sztuki Współczesnej as well as an award for extraordinary achievement at the 2022 Boska Komedia Festival. In March, 2023, Michael premiered Zanurzenie, his newest work (where he also performs) with Wierzchowski at Teatr Śląski, which is a finalist for the 29th edition of the Ogólnopolski Konkurs na Wystawienie Polskiej Sztuki Współczesnej.
