Our Blood Is Red To Let Us Know is a performance about the artist’s father and his twin obsessions: Mars and mourning. Through storytelling, songs, and cinema, Cadoux shows how the parent tried to prepare the child for their death, life on Mars, and the impossible geographies conjured by these overlapping fixations. On an intergenerational and interplanetary tour through familial folklore, Jewish longing, colonial imagination, and speculative eulogy, the question is posed: is it for real?
