Miłosz Markiewicz

Short bio

Miłosz Markiewicz is a cultural and art historian, translator, playwright, and literary director of the Stanislaw Wyspiański Silesian Theatre in Katowice.

As an author of adaptations and dramaturgy of both canonical and contemporary titles, he has participated in theatrical performances at the Silesian Theatre, the Zagłębie Theatre in Sosnowiec and the K. Dejmek New Theatre in Łódź. He also worked on radio plays, open-air shows and a web series. He twice served as a curator of the substantive program of the National Festival of Directing Art INTERPRETATIONS (2018, 2022).

He has worked as an expert and content collaborator for numerous cultural institutions throughout the country. Author of texts for exhibition catalogs and for the National Center for Culture‘s toolkit on good practices in audience research. Former member of the editorial board of the scientific journal “Estetyka i Krytyka”, currently associated with the editorial boards of the cultural magazines “Czas Kultury” and “Fragile”. He is an assistant professor at the Department of Theatre and Media Arts at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan.
