What is this event about?

Yiddish is much more than the language of a lost past.

It is a language that is still alive, relevant, and present in contemporary culture. We invite you to a lecture and conversation dedicated to Yiddish, taking place on 15 October 2026 at 7 PM, at Podgórze HOIZ, ul. Józefińska 9.

We will talk about where and by whom Yiddish is spoken today, why it is worth learning, and how it functions in contemporary culture and social practices.

The event will be led by Zach Mojsze (Cafe Bund).

We kindly ask anyone with specific accessibility needs (hearing, visual, mobility, language-related, or other) to let us know in advance by email (kalina@festivalt.com), by phone (+48 607 542 997, +48 507 609 229), or via social media message (Facebook, Instagram).

We will provide organisational and personal support and, where possible and depending on the nature of the event, we will also try to offer alternative forms of access.

The Podgórze HOIZ space (ul. Józefińska) is located on the ground floor, with direct access from the street.

Guide dogs are welcome. The event will be held in Polish.

If any additional needs arise during the event, please let the organisers know. They will be wearing special identification badges.
