We invite you to take part in the jubilee 10th edition of FestivALT, the Jewish Festival of Arts and Activism, held under the theme HOIZ (Yiddish: הויז, home), which will take place in Kraków from 26 June to 5 July 2026.
It will be both a return to our roots and a new beginning.
The programme — featuring concerts, theatre performances, performative works, workshops and walks — has been carefully selected from among dozens of projects presented, co-produced and co-curated over the years.
The invited artists include, among others, vocalist and composer Maria Ka, jazz musician Mikołaj Trzaska, and theatre director Michał Zadara.
The “best of” format is both a nod to audiences already familiar with FestivALT’s programme line — centred around critically engaged contemporary Jewish art — and an invitation to those who will be discovering us for the first time.
In addition to the milestone anniversary, the programme changes have also been inspired by a growing need to build communities and create safe spaces. Another important factor was this year’s honour of being awarded the title of Social Cultural Institution of the City of Kraków, as well as the implementation of the project HOIZ / home. An intimate space for contemporary artistic and minority practices.
Most events during the 10th edition of FestivALT will take place precisely there: in homely, atmospheric and intimate locations on Dietla and Józefińska Streets — the very places where the idea of FestivALT was born and where its first editions were held.
The 10th edition of FestivALT is made possible thanks to funding from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage under the “Linguistic Diversity” grant programme of the Institute for Linguistic Diversity of the Republic of Poland, and co-funding from the City of Kraków.
