Poland Is Not Yet Lost • Performance • HOIZ 2026

Poland Is Not Yet Lost is a futuristic satire: the State of Israel has been destroyed, and three million Jews have returned to Poland. Its president is the well-known actor Maciej Stuhr, whose decision to convert to Judaism inspired four million non-Jewish Poles to follow in his footsteps. Present-day Poland, now home to seven million Jews, stands on the eve of a referendum that will decide whether a new Jewish state should be established. This provocative performance by Poland-born Dorota Abbe and Canadian Michael Rubenfeld explores the temptations and dangers of nationalism. Gathered in the theatre as if at a political rally, the audience is called upon to make a choice: will they vote for a bright future and equality for all?
