From 10 to 15 August 2026, Finker HOIZ hosted an artistic residency by Kateryna and Kostiantyn Vasiukov, Ukrainian artists associated with the Kharkiv-based Publicyst Theatre.
During the residency, Kateryna and Kostiantyn worked on a new performance titled “Transplanting”. In this project, moving plants between Poland and Ukraine becomes an attempt to carry something more: the memory of a home that had to be left behind before it could truly become a home. “Transplanting” is a story about living in limbo between two places—an experience shared today by millions of Ukrainians. It asks whether, along with family, belongings and habits, it is also possible to transplant a sense of being rooted.
The performance premiered on 29 August 2026 during Ukrainian Art Week in Poznań.
The project is co-financed by the City of Kraków.
